Born in Milan, Italy and having lived in Lebanon, Hong Kong and New York, Michael Joukowsky has made his home in Providence, Rhode Island. He is a graduate of Brown University and received his MBA from Babson College. Currently he is the CEO of a private investment firm specializing in domestic and international value oriented investments. In addition, he is a General Partner in the SSP Real Asset GP, LLC and SSP Private Equity GP, LLC. He has founded and manages several private investment companies involved in acquisitions and mergers, real estate and mortgage acquisition, as well as a private family investment and advisory firm. He is on the investment committee for Lifespan which is the largest medical services provider in Southeastern New England. He is chairman of the investment committee for the Joukowsky Family Foundation. He is also the co-founder (1996) and manager of Resolute Racing Shells in Bristol Rhode Island, founded by a team of world cup yacht builders and designers. He is President of Crawford Composites, LLC a North Carolina, a manufacturer of high performance composite products including NASCAR professional race cars and the Chairman of General Composites, Inc. a New York contract composite manufacture that does work for the medical, defense and recreation industries.
Mr. Joukowsky has been member of the Brown University President's Leadership Council since its inception in 2004. He is also a member of the Brown Annual Fund Leadership Council - (2002 to 2005) and an Entrepreneurship Program Advisory Board Member (1999 to Present). He is a co-founder of the Entrepreneurship Forum and continues to participate in this annual effort. He participated in the development of the Initiative for Entrepreneurship and Organizational Studies and currently serves as co-chair of the fundraising committee. He joined the Brown University Sports Foundation Board of Directors in 1994. He has served on his class' 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th Reunion Committees, serving as Co-chair of the Reunion Gifts Committee for the 15th and 20th. Since 1987 Misha has been a member of the Brown University Adjunct Faculty, Engineering Department and he teaches a section of Engineering 9.
